Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent may get an English release

There is some hope for Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent to receive an English release. The mobile prequel to Octopath Traveler is set to release in Japan by the end of the year. Unfortunately, up till now, there has been little word on the game releasing at all in the west. However, a tweet from an official Japanese Octopath Traveler Twitter account at least teases the possibility. Here is how they answered if the game will receive an English version:

… The reason we started creating this game was because we would like more and more people to immerse themselves in the world of OCTOPATH TRAVELER. We would definitely like to provide various opportunities for our players. However, at the moment we are doing our best in order to accomplish the Japanese domestic version. About other development plans, please wait for further information.

There’s not a whole lot of information to work with here. It looks like they’re focusing on finishing the game before announcing any next steps. Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent has already had one beta test, so hopefully the game will release soon.

Earlier this week, in celebration of 400,000 pre-registrations for Champions of the Continent, a snippet of the soundtrack was released. It’s one of the few aspects that we can appreciate without having to learn a second language. I’ll be looking forward to more details, so make sure to check back with us often.
