Toby Fox shares new Deltarune music and development progress

Today marks the fourth anniversary of Undertale‘s release on PC. The game is currently on sale in the eShop for a few more days, but Toby Fox wanted to do more to celebrate. And what better way to celebrate than by showing off its spiritual successor, Deltarune?

The main thing Toby shared on Twitter were brand new songs from Deltarune. The first is titled “The City.” This track is everything you would expect from Toby Fox at this point. It’s super catchy, and it’s blooming with Undertale vibes. Toby made a side note about the city, saying it’s “extremely small.”

Another song Toby shared is called “Lost Girl (Noelle).” This is a slower song that is sure to tug at the heartstrings of players around the world. Toby said that even though he calls it Noelle’s theme, “it’s actually the kind of song that gets used repeatedly all over the game, even when she’s not around.”

On top of this, Toby shared some information regarding the progress of Deltarune. He mentioned the overall design and specifics were going well and he has a “lot of confidence in the game that is currently written.” He went on to note that there are hurdles, but he’s sure they’ll be overcome.

This is definitely a treat that I’m sure surprised Undertale and Deltarune fans this morning. Hopefully, we’ll see more of the game in the near future.

What do you guys think of the new song? Are you excited for more of Deltarune? Let us know in the comments below!

I love all kinds of video games. I personally find the most enjoyment in JRPGs, Visual Novels, and pretty much anything Nintendo makes. I'm always open to discovering new types of games, so I'll be happy to check out anything someone suggests.
