Koholint Island 3D printing The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening

The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening is finally out in the wild, and Switch owners the world over are devouring it. The game takes place on Koholint Island, home to the mysterious Wind Fish’s Egg, and you seriously have to wonder how much it hurt to lay that egg in the first place. But if you really want to celebrate your love of this classic title arriving on Switch, why not 3D print your own Koholint Island?

Over at MyMiniFactory, you can download all the information you need to print a gorgeous, giant-egged island of your own (assuming you have a 3D printer… which I do not). It was actually created by Jukka Seppänen seven months ago, but it is gaining renewed attention now thanks to its attracting attention on Reddit.

It’s a really attractive and lovingly crafted piece of work, enough so that it makes you wonder if Nintendo should just officially release its own variation of Koholint Island to display. Nintendo has created enough iconic locales at this point that it could probably sell its own series of Mighty Max-esque play sets if it really wanted to.

If you’re somehow still on the fence about The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, be sure to check out our review, which describes it as a perfect translation of the original.
