Mario Kart Tour Star Fox

Yesterday, Mario Kart Tour joined a growing line of Nintendo-produced mobile titles. Nintendo’s smartphone library has been all over the board — games like Fire Emblem Heroes have built up large, ongoing followings, Super Mario Run had its time in the sun, and Dr. Mario World sort of fizzled out soon after release. Mario Kart Tour‘s fate is undetermined. It has its moments, but the aggressive paywalls will need fixing if the game hopes to stay within people’s patience.

Regardless of their unpredictable quality, Nintendo’s mobile apps are here to stay. What IP do you think they should tackle next?

As a Star Fox fan, I live in constant distress. At this point, I’ll get excited for just about anything featuring my favorite anthropomorphic space pilots. A mobile title would honestly intrigue me, and the on-rails action that the series is known for would lend itself well to some procedurally-generated action. The sad thing is, the game would not even need to be good to be one of the series’ best moments this decade. It wouldn’t have to amount to more than a competent distraction.

I can’t imagine that such a game would revolutionize the Star Fox series. At least, I really hope it wouldn’t. But after ZeroI’ll take anything.

What about you? After Mario Kart Tour, is there any other Nintendo series that you think is in dire need of a mobile entry? Sound off in the comments and let us know.
