Breath of the Wild sequel trailer remake N64 graphics

One of the big surprises at this year’s E3 came at the end of Nintendo’s press conference. After exciting the fan base with the announcement of Banjo-Kazooie in Smash, they had one last reveal. Eerie music and a disturbing, ethereal green mist filled the screen. We were all instantly gripped, and our excitement only grew when it became clear that this was a Breath of the Wild sequel. The dark and mysterious tone of that first trailer has us hooked. Unfortunately, Nintendo has yet to reveal anything else. As always, that’s where the fans come in. While we wait for more information, a talented fan called The Regressor decided to remake that trailer with N64 graphics. The results are impressive! Click below to see for yourself.

Breath of the Wild sequel with N64 graphics

A fantastic fan project

Wow! Count me in. Obviously this isn’t a real game, but I would have loved it back in that era. Maybe the ever-dedicated modding community will make it happen in the future. Of course, the N64 did get a rather dark game in Majora’s Mask, and producer Eiji Aonuma has even compared the Breath of the Wild sequel to that game. Although I obviously prefer the more refined, modern graphics, the old look is definitely giving me some serious nostalgia right now.

In addition to the N64 graphics, this trailer also featured reimagined music and sound effects that drew inspiration from that era. These were all provided by vince94 to give this Breath of the Wild sequel re-imaging a more authentic feel.
