When it comes to murder mystery detective games, it’s hard to beat the polish and charm of a classic like Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. Fans of the series who have been itching for more are in luck, as there’s a new detective game in town named Murder by Numbers. Better yet, it’s boasting some classic Capcom pedigree thanks to a soundtrack composed by original Ace Attorney composer Masakazu Sugimori.
If you’re a fan of indie games, the other names attached to Murder by Numbers are sure to get you even more excited. Announced by publisher The Irregular Corporation and developer Mediatonic, the game is set to be directed by Ed Fear, the mind behind The Swords of Ditto. Character designs are also handled by Hato Moa, the talented artist behind cult classic weirdo visual novel Hatoful Boyfriend. Still, it’s hard to beat the promising musical mastery from the Ace Attorney composer.
Murder by Numbers is set in 1996, where actress Honor Mizrahi is being accused of the murder of her boss, who fired her minutes before his death. Now she has to team up with a mysterious floating robot named SCOUT in order to track down clues behind the death of her former employer and clear her name once and for all.
Murder by Numbers is set to hit Nintendo Switch sometime in 2020.
