Sonic Adventure remix music Sonic Mania composer

The official Sonic the Hedgehog Twitter account has released a remix of Sonic Adventure‘s “Welcome to Station Square.” The remix is a collaboration between Sonic Mania composer Tee Lopes and Crush 40 guitarist Jun Senoue. This comes after an announcement yesterday of four new remixes by Lopes, with one releasing per day.

“Welcome to Station Square” is the song you’ll spend the most time listening to while playing Sonic Adventure. The hub town music is something of a nostalgic focal point, and the remix has me and many others drooling over the thought of a Sonic Adventure remake.

It’s a little too soon to start making claims, but if we get a second song from Sonic Adventure tomorrow then you can expect the rumor mill to be running at full force. I’m more of a Sonic Adventure 2 kind of guy, but I’ll take any return to the Adventure style of games. They remind me of a simpler time for Sonic fans before this terrifying Halloween costume existed.

I can think of dozens of tracks from the Sonic franchise that I’d love to see remixed. “White Forest,” anyone? There is perhaps no one better suited for tackling the legacy of Sonic music than Tee Lopes, and I’m eager to hear what he’s bringing tomorrow. What’s your favorite Sonic song? Let us know in the comments.
