Ace Attorney series 20th anniversary website launched by Capcom

The first Ace Attorney game was released 20 years ago today, and Capcom is celebrating with a 20th anniversary website.

The anniversary website greets visitors with an image featuring series protagonist Phoenix Wright and his ancestor Ryunosuke Naruhodo from The Great Ace Attorney prequel series. They’re accompanied with the message, “The Ace Attorney series has reached its 20th anniversary on October 12, 2021.”

The Ace Attorney 20th anniversary website also has a greeting to thank fans for the last 20 years. The series has had several video games,  anime, mangas, and a live-action film, thanks to fans. There have even been Ace Attorney mystery-solving events and orchestra concerts. The website shows that it won’t end there, with a new Capcom vs. Osamu Tezuka characters exhibit that is currently ongoing in Japan until October 18. Capcom will also release two waves of Ace Attorney art goods coming in November and December.

Unfortunately, the website didn’t include a teaser or anything hinting at a new game. However, Japanese companies tend to drag out milestone anniversaries for the entire year, so there’s a chance that we might see something added later.

The first game, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, was released for the Nintendo DS in Japan on October 12, 2001. It arrived in North America four years later, on September 15, 2005. The European version followed shortly, on October 12, 2005. The latest release from the series comes from The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles featuring both The Great Ace Attorney games.
