Horror fans and Alien enthusiasts alike have been eagerly anticipating the launch of Alien: Isolation on the Nintendo Switch. After months of teases and trailers with no concrete release date, one of the best games based on the iconic Ridley Scott movie franchise finally has a confirmed release of Dec. 5.
Originally released back in October 2014, Alien: Isolation impressed everyone with its stellar horror gameplay. You play as Amanda Ripley, daughter of the iconic protagonist and mech-piloting badass from the original films, Ellen Ripley. Set 15 years after the original film, it’s up to Amanda to investigate the disappearance of her mother.
While she’s investigating, though, the iconic intergalactic death machine itself will be on her tail. In Alien: Isolation, the alien is following you at all times, with dynamic AI programming that constantly reacts and adapts to what you’re doing, where you’re doing it, and when you do it. The constant cat-and-mouse between the player and the alien led to some of the most sweat-inducing moments in gaming history.
Alien: Isolation was also well received for the absolutely gorgeous attention to detail when it came to the art design of the game. Elements of the visual and auditory aesthetic from the original Alien film are faithfully recreated here, creating an interactive experience that will leave die-hard fans drooling.
Get ready to survive on Dec. 5 with Alien: Isolation on Nintendo Switch.
