GameSpot has uploaded a video that includes all the cutscenes from the recently released Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. This allows those of you who dislike the Warriors gameplay an opportunity to witness the events of the game, albeit with some context missing since narrative text from combat is missing.
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity takes place 100 years before The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. It delves into the events leading up to Link’s open-world adventure with some surprises along the way, as these two hours of Age of Calamity cutscenes will show.
This is a great video to watch. However, I strongly recommend that you give Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity a shot. The experience was unlike any Warriors game that I had played up to that point, with meaningful side content and a story that subverts all expectations. Age of Calamity also does an excellent job at implementing ideas seen in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, such as cooking, perfecting dodging, and much more.
You can read our full review of Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, where we praise its ability to tell a strong story in an already established Zelda canon. The game is now available for Nintendo Switch and has gotten fans even more excited for the upcoming sequel to Breath of the Wild. It will be interesting to see if this will influence the story going forward.
