Indie developers have been scratching the retro itch for many gamers, and this trend has been transferred to the Nintendo Switch to great success. With independent developers reporting exponential increases in revenue when compared to their PC, PS4, or Xbox One releases, it is no surprise that another retro-style indie game is making its way to the Nintendo Switch.

Be sure to keep an eye out for Class vs. Crass podcast with an unveiling of Alwa’s Awakening. The game was previously released on Steam in early 2017, and will make its appearance on the Nintendo Switch eShop this summer.

In this 8-bit retro adventure title, play as Zoe with magical abilities. A truly “Metroidvania,” feel, with gameplay similar to Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest of the NES (hopefully not as obtuse), will surely be a popular choice upon release. The title boasts over 400 unique rooms to explore, puzzles to solve, and a stellar 8-bit soundtrack to accompany the exploration.
