Before we move into 2021, Nintendo is bringing a few more features to Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Alongside at least two more major updates, amiibo cards are making their return. These card variants of amiibo figures were introduced during the 3DS and Wii U era of Animal Crossing, bringing added bonuses to what amounted to three Animal Crossing games during that era.
The cards worked with Animal Crossing: New Leaf – Welcome Amiibo, Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer, and Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival. Over time, the stock dried up, making them sometimes stupidly expensive to obtain via the likes of eBay. Nintendo has you covered though, as Series 1-4 of amiibo cards will return to stores this November, usable with New Horizons.

When used with New Horizons, the cards will invite the chosen villager to your island. This will help with those Nook Miles, as currently you need to do some traveling to find specific villagers.
The Fall Update is the next major one for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, going live on Sept. 30 and adding Halloween festivities. Halloween brings new outfits, decorations, and live events to the game, including a night of scares on Oct. 31. Nintendo has also teased a Thanksgiving and Christmas-themed event to launch later in the year.
Animal Crossing amiibo cards return to stores sometime in November.
