Animal Crossing: New Horizons Halloween festivities are in the works! When the second Summer Update dropped late July, Halloween-themed content was teased, and it’s now been fully revealed. The Fall Update brings spooky costumes, collectible candy, and more to Animal Crossing: New Horizons at the end of this month.
A video from Nintendo outlines most of the upcoming content. The game will of course be adorned with all manner of fall pleasantries, like rustling, autumnal trees and plenty of pumpkins of course. It’s not all visual though, as players will be able to gather candy for Halloween preparations, grow their own pumpkins, dress up in creepy costumes, and gather for a night of scares on Oct. 31.
About Halloween in particular, we have these specific details:
When Halloween night arrives on Oct. 31, after 5 p.m., neighbors will gather in the plaza, which will be adorned with an array of Halloween decorations. You’ll also receive a visit from a mysterious guest, Jack, the “czar of Halloween.” By giving Jack lollipops and candy, you’ll earn spooky in-game rewards. Be sure to save some candy for your neighbors, too, or you might get pranked! Luckily, you can learn a couple of new Reactions to properly express your feelings of fear.
The update initially drops on Sept. 30 though, giving us plenty of time to get ready for the festivities. An update for Nook Link, the companion app, follows in early October. It looks like the app will provide another method of performing Halloween emotes for your friends in-game.
Just like last time, the next themed update is teased as the video closes out. As expected, it’s Thanksgiving and Christmas that are teased in a closing image, with that update aiming for a late November release.
Whom will you be dressing up as for Halloween in Animal Crossing: New Horizons as part of the Fall Update?
