Animal Crossing: New Horizons did not show up at the E3 2021 Nintendo Direct, which depending upon whom you ask was a good thing, as it made more room for amazing new announcements. Nonetheless, in less than a year the title became the second bestselling game on Nintendo Switch across its entire life span, an incredible feat, so it would be lunacy if Nintendo were to stop supporting it now. However, speaking to The Verge, Nintendo of America president Doug Bowser confirmed the obvious by saying that more Animal Crossing: New Horizons updates and content are on the way.
“While we didn’t talk about it [during the E3 Nintendo Direct], we absolutely have plans going forward to ensure the 33 million people who have islands out there have new and fun activities to engage with,” said Bowser. “Look for more to come.”
Bowser acknowledged that Animal Crossing: New Horizons has been a major source of online engagement for Switch players, but so has Monster Hunter Rise since its launch back in March. Monster Hunter Rise is receiving a steady cadence of updates, and someway, somehow, Animal Crossing: New Horizons will see more content as well. As such, what are you hoping to see added to the game that it is still lacking?
