Animal Crossing: New Horizons patch 1.4.1 update fixes hacked trees dream states

The Animal Crossing: New Horizons summer update wave 2 arrived late last month. It brought with it some new features, like dream states and firework displays, among other bits and pieces. However, some less favorable changes crept into the game too. Hacked dream islands showed up, adding onto existing issues like hacked trees sprouting different items — the latter of which has been resolved in update 1.4.1 for Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

If you’ve loaded up New Horizons since the patch went live, you’ll notice some changes. First off, any hacked trees that grew Star Fragments and other items are no more. Instead, these trees will now turn into money trees with dangling bags of bells.  A few other fixes have gone live too, following on from the mass deletion of hacked dream islands earlier this week. The patch notes are as follows:

  • Fixed an issue where trees could mature and contain things other than the normal fruit, etc.
  • Fixed an issue where shining soil disappears after returning to your own island after a dream and buried Bells appear in that location instead.
  • Fixed an issue where the player swings their shovel through the air when attempting to hit a rock placed at a certain location.

Are you disappointed that these magic trees have been altered?
