Eiji Aonuma has several Legend of Zelda masterpieces under his belt, and so far, with the re-release of The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker in beautiful HD and The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds coming up, the sky is the limit.  However, there’s always concern about fan reaction and that thought has crossed Aonuma’s mind more than once making him concerned about how they will react to A Link Between Worlds.

\”I am worried about whether the fans are going to like it when it is released,\” said Aonuma.

As a true sequel to the SNES hit The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Aonuma and his team worked feverishly to bring in new elements of game play while trying to maintain the terrain, buildings, etc. on the map for the sequel, such as the light and dark worlds.

“As a Link to the Past was what made me want to make games in the first place, it is truly a moving experience to be working on the sequel,\” stated Aonuma.

A Link Between Worlds did not originally begin as a true sequel but Aonuma said that as things progressed and were fleshed out it began to take shape.  He said you can see little unique ideas that popped up into The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD and that the same holds true for The Legend of Zelda:  A Link Between Worlds.  These sudden new and unique ideas are what Aonuma says will make the new games deliver a strong new Zelda experience than that found in past installments.

What are your thoughts? Do you think The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds will get a positive response?
