In The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD for Wii U, the original game’s slow, archaic sailing has, well, set sail. Expect an improved nautical experience thanks to adjustments on the Swift Sail as well as the addition of the Gamepad’s sea chart.

According to game director Eiji Aonuma, the red sail seen in the recent Nintendo Direct (the Swift Sail) will now always be full of wind, allowing the player to travel at swift speeds in any direction without delay. Those who played the original game would have to use the Wind Waker to change the direction of the wind beforehand, but not in the HD version.

Furthermore, Aonuma adds that the Gamepad’s nautical chart will work like a \”car nav\”, allowing for quicker and easier travel across the game’s massive ocean. \”Even if you struggled with sea exploration in the original, I think you’ll have a blast exploring the great sea once more,\” says Aonuma.

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD launches only on Wii U in September for Japan and in October for North America and Europe.
