Developer Funselektor, which is actually just solo act Dune Casu, has announced an August 12, 2021 release date for racing game Art of Rally on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Game Pass. A PlayStation 4 and 5 release date will come later this summer, and the game already released on PC last year. This title is the follow-up to Funselektor’s well-received Absolute Drift. Art of Rally will debut on consoles alongside a new Kenya Update, which actually adds quite a bit.
In total, the Kenya Update will deliver six new stages through places like Mount Kenya and Lake Victoria, a free-roaming map “to chill under the African sky,” four new cars, two new songs, and even three types of animal: zebras, giraffes, and elephants. As it is, Art of Rally presents a driving experience through the “golden age of rally” in its Career mode, with environments inspired by locations from Finland, Sardinia, Norway, Japan, and Germany. Here’s what else to expect with Art of Rally on Switch:
- 61 iconic rally cars from the ’60s to the ’90s, Group B, Group S, Group A
- 60 rally stages
- Daily and weekly challenges with leaderboards
- Photo and Replay mode for sharing screenshots
- Ghost racing: Push your limits and chase your own best scores
