Despite its free-to-play nature and timed mobile-esque content limits, Asphalt 9: Legends is actually a decent racer on Nintendo Switch. Granted, we’ve since seen the likes of Grid Autosport and WRC join the library, but for proper arcade racing there’s only really this and a Burnout remaster. As this is a new game though, updates are still coming, and today a pretty big one drops with Osaka coming to Asphalt 9: Legends.
Yep, new driving location Osaka, Japan and 10 brand new car additions are coming to the game. This is the game’s second major content drop since launch back in 2019, and there should be a good number of tracks and routes based on Osaka. In March’s update 1, developer Gameloft added a Caribbean location.
The 10 new cars haven’t been fully detailed yet, but expect them to cover the full sports and supercar spectrum. The trailer shows some of them in action, along with the new location and some new customization features. These include new body kit options and paint choices, and the update is live on Switch.
If smaller updates like Osaka in Asphalt 9: Legends aren’t enough for your arcade racing appetite, EA recently revealed Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered. This one arrives for Switch on Nov. 13, and we recently went hands-on with a demo ahead of launch.
