Index Corporation is the parent company of Atlus, and this past few weeks has filed for bankruptcy.  Just a year ago Index Corporation tried to streamline its operations and dissolved all of its subsidiaries under its umbrella and operated each company as a brand rather than an independent organisation.  Although this would have helped operations and driven costs down, it seems not to have been enough.

Fear broke out that with the application for Civil Rehabilitation Bankruptcy all Atlus operations would cease, but a recent official statement from Atlus has alleviated those concerns.

“From hereafter also, the development and sales of the Atlus brand as well as the consumer business will continue. Other retail and download titles that are currently on sale will continue to be sold as they are currently.”

Fans of Shin Megami Tensei and Trauma Centre shouldn\’t fear; any in-development projects will continue and online content will remain available. So those eagerly anticipating the Fire Emblem crossover should not worry anymore.
