Nickelodeon might not have confirmed a new season in the Avatar: The Last Airbender universe, but it has announced a collaboration between the series and the MOBA Smite. Next month will see Aang, Zuko, and Korra come to Smite as playable characters. Each character will be available to unlock through the game’s battle pass, though I’d guess there will be a way to buy them outright within the game.

Avatar: The Last Airbender is an anime series that spanned three seasons, with four more seasons expanding the universe further after a decent chunk of time in The Legend of Korra. The franchise has quite a large fan base who love the world where certain individuals can bend elements to their will. That sort of power should play into Smite perfectly.

Aang is mainly an airbender, Korra is mainly a waterbender, and Zuko is a firebender. Each character will make use of their respective elements as weapons and abilities in Smite, but there’s more to them than just their element. Each character will also have prestige skins that players can unlock through gameplay. For Zuko this is The Blue Spirit, an alter ego he dons when he needs to hide his face. For Aang this is his Avatar State form, when he is most powerful and his eyes and tattoos glow. Korra will also enter the Avatar State, which once again will feature glowing areas on her skin and outfit.

We’ll keep you up to date with more information about the next battle pass in Smite as it’s revealed.

Started out playing Metroid 2 on the GameBoy at around 5 years-old, and now I write about games all day long. Can't play Switch and drive, I've tried. As time goes on the Switch is quickly becoming my favourite console of all time.
