Awesome Games Done Quick 2020 AGDQ 2020 begins Prevent Cancer Foundation

Can you believe how fast time flies? It feels like the extraordinary and record-breaking Summer Games Done Quick (SGDQ) 2019 just finished, yet here we are, on the cusp of more speedrunning greatness. Awesome Games Done Quick 2020 (AGDQ 2020) will begin on Sunday, Jan. 5 at 11:30 a.m. EST and continue on all week on Twitch, raising money for the Prevent Cancer Foundation.

AGDQ 2020 comes with a bang

This event marks the 10th anniversary of Games Done Quick running week-long speedrunning marathons to raise money for charity. Each year sees AGDQ in January and SGDQ in, well, summer, and to date, the events have raised over $22.3 million in total for charity. SGDQ 2019 was the most successful event yet, raising over $3 million for Doctors Without Borders. AGDQ 2019 raised over $2.4 million by comparison, which is still a huge chunk of change.

As per usual, Awesome Games Done Quick 2020 will have a wide assortment of exciting games and special events to watch. Here’s just a sampling of the Nintendo-centric content!

  • Sunday: Metroid: Zero Mission, Mega Man 7, Super Mario Bros. 3, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
  • Monday: Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, ActRaiser, Donkey Kong Country 3
  • Tuesday: Bayonetta 2, Ninja Gaiden II: The Dark Sword of Chaos, Super Castlevania IV, Pokémon Sapphire, The Legend of Zelda relay
  • Wednesday: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Cadence of Hyrule, Mega Man 46 relay
  • Thursday: Fire Emblem: Three Houses “House Bid War”
  • Friday: Pokémon X/Y, Mega Man X4, Mega Man X3, Mega Man X, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, TASBot Super Mario Bros. 3 & 2, Super Mario 64 Randomizer
  • Saturday: Super Mario World, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past Randomizer, Super Mario Maker 2, Super Metroid Impossible (hack)
