Axiom Verge captured the hearts of Metroid fans in 2015, and we’ve been craving a sequel ever since. Axiom Verge 2 is on the way, but we’ll need to be patient a little longer. Following an initial delay late last year, Axiom Verge 2 has been delayed again, this time to Q3 2021. As consolation, developer Tom Happ is releasing the official Making-Of Documentary online for free.
Axiom Verge 2 delayed
The sequel was originally planned for 2020, but it was pushed back to the first half of 2021 for a variety of reasons. Like many games, its development was impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Happ is also a solo developer making a massive game world, and the sequel features more complex enemy AI and art than the original. In a recent blog post, Happ revealed that Axiom Verge 2 has been delayed again, this time to Q3 2021. With the first half of the year nearing its end, it needed a little more time in the oven.
The Making-Of Documentary
The original game received a physical collector’s edition called the Multiverse Edition in 2017. That bundle included a Making-Of Documentary that gave players a deep look behind the scenes. To ease the wait of the latest Axiom Verge 2 delay, Happ is making it available online for free. It is currently available for purchase on Steam, but it will soon be a free download. Happ is also planning to release it for free on the Epic Games Store.
