ballad wind fish english

Two weeks ago, a new commercial aired for the upcoming Nintendo Switch remake of The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening in Japan. The 30-second ad prominently featured a melancholic arrangement of the game’s main theme “Ballad of the Wind Fish.” Complete with a somber piano and actual lyrics, the already mournful ballad came across as more haunting than ever. Granted, the lyrics were in Japanese, so we had little to go by for an English translation.

Until today! A new ad for the game went live on Nintendo UK’s YouTube channel; it’s shot-for-shot the same advert (save the Nintendo Switch Lite plug), this time featuring an English version of the same song.

A shame it’s only about as long, I want to hear the whole thing! Thankfully, we don’t have to wait much longer for Link’s Awakening before it launches this Friday, September 20. Chances are the full version of “Ballad of the Wind Fish” with lyrics will be included with the final release!

In any case, what do you make of this preview of the English version? Let us know what you think in the comments! Be sure to check out our preview of the game itself, and keep an eye out for our review later this week.
