Bushiroad and Craft Egg announced that their popular smartphone rhythm game BanG Dream Girls Band Party is coming to Nintendo Switch sometime in 2021. The announcement comes from the mobile title’s recent 6th anniversary livestream.

The livestream was mostly about celebrating the anniversary with guest appearances and information about upcoming in-game campaigns. The developers announced a 2021 release window for the Switch version of BanG Dream! Girls Band Party!, but we didn’t get any further details other than it’s coming. In any case, we can expect to hear more about it from Bushiroad in the coming months.

BanG Dream! Girls Band Party! might look like your average idol game at first glance, but it focuses more on the rhythm game aspect. There are over 200 songs, ranging from bangers by popular J-pop artists to favorite anime songs. The gameplay is easy to understand with simple touch controls. As far as difficulty goes, there’s something for everyone, including complete novices and seasoned rhythm game veterans.

The game offers individual band stories that feature fully voiced dialogue and characters animated with Live2D. There’s also real-time co-op play for up to five players at a time. We’ll find out more later if the Switch version will come with its own limited tracks or version-exclusive features.
