You know what they say; a roguelike a day keeps the doctor away. This time around, your daily dose is a deceptively familiar-looking game called Collapsed. When it initially released on PC via Steam and GOG just about a year ago, it got a lot of comparisons to platformer roguelike all-star Dead Cells. It’s easy to see why at a glance; both games share a similar style of gameplay and a sharp yet decrepit sort of foreboding aesthetic. While Dead Cells was steeped in creepy high fantasy, though, Collapsed puts an alien fueled near-future twist on things that is sure to catch your eye. It’s only been available on PC for the last year, but starting August 29 the game is arriving on Nintendo Switch.

Collapsed tosses you face-first into a grim post-apocalyptic world, where society has fallen to hordes of violent invading aliens. While these aliens have conquered countless planets with ease, they’re currently locked in a tight battle with the resistance fighters of Earth, which is where you come in. You’ve got four different character classes to pick from. Reapers are standard melee fighters, while Devourers are trap and sniper specialists. Warriors are massive melee tanks, meanwhile, while the Pest is a scientist specializing in debuffs and mid-ranged battle. Choose your fighter and navigate through countless procedurally generated environments and hordes of daunting enemies as you do your best to turn around the fate of Earth.
