Like many Kickstarter success stories, the book hasn’t closed on development for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night just yet. On top of the regular post-launch patches and updates you’d expect, 505 Games and ArtPlay are hard at work optimizing the performance of the Nintendo Switch version of the Castlevania-inspired and Koji Igarashi-helmed platforming adventure. On top of squashing bugs and fixing frame rates though, the team has a bevy of stretch goal rewards they’re currently working on adding to the game. A new Kickstarter update for the game sheds some light on what we can expect to see soon.
In the most recent Kickstarter post for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, the team shared the news that version 1.04 will be going live for the Nintendo Switch version of the game in January. For regions that are only on version 1.02 of the game, this patch will include all of the improvements from version 1.03.
The team also expressed that brand new content is coming soon as well. The developers are currently hard at work on the second playable character, Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon star Zangetsu. They’re currently working on two new modes too, with one of them being Boss Revenge. There are plenty of other modes and a third playable character in the pipeline, and the team hopes to have a more steady stream of content releasing once all platform versions of the game are in parity.
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is currently available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC.
