Nintendo Enthusiast loves Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, on Nintendo Switch or in general. That being said, Bloodstained for Switch suffers from undeniable visual problems compared to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC versions of the game. 505 Games is likewise promising to dedicate resources to clean up the Switch version. But in spite of all that? In its first week of release in the United Kingdom, Bloodstained for Switch sold more copies than the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions sold in their first week combined.
On the UK sales charts, this awesome bump in sales caused Bloodstained to jump from #17 last week to #9 this week. That puts the game ahead of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and just behind Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.
These terrific sales of Bloodstained for Switch don’t necessarily mean everyone who bought it is thrilled with what they received. Nobody really knew what was in store with the Switch version in advance, after all. However, I would still wager that a majority of Switch gamers are enjoying the experience, as our reviewer certainly did. Visuals and even choppiness aside, it’s a really well-put-together Castlevania game. (Come on, be honest with yourself — it’s a Castlevania.)
