Nintendo has announced that a blue Nintendo Switch Lite console will be released next month. It will be released alongside Miitopia on May 21 in the U.S. and May 7 in the U.K., retailing for the typical $199.99 / £199.99. Nintendo Switch Lite already has a variety of different colors, including pink, turquoise, gray, coral, and a limited edition Pokémon Sword and Shield console. Personally, this new blue addition is probably my favorite version of the Switch Lite, and there’s a chance I might pick one up as I don’t own the strictly portable device.

Blue Nintendo Switch Lite aside, a lot is going on right now at Nintendo, with President Shuntaro Furukawa stating in an interview that Nintendo is “constantly building up ideas for new consoles” and is “looking to create new game series.” Fans are eagerly anticipating the rumored “Switch Pro” with 4K and DLSS. In terms of Nintendo’s future software, we have quite a few games to look forward to. At the end of the month, New Pokémon Snap will be released, and then there’s Miitopia releasing in May, Mario Golf: Super Rush in June, and The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD in July. That’s without including third-party titles like Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin and plenty of unannounced titles.
2021 has already been a solid year for Nintendo Switch, as games such as Monster Hunter Rise and Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury have kicked off the year with a bang. This year is a big one for Nintendo in terms of anniversaries, as Zelda and Metroid are 35 years old now, but the company has yet to announce any celebration plans.
The blue Nintendo Switch Lite will be released this May alongside the Switch port of Miitopia. Are you planning on getting this console?
