Bravely Default II PC Steam release date September 2, 2021

Bravely Default II launched for Nintendo Switch exclusively back on February 26, but that exclusivity is now coming to an end. Square Enix has announced with a trailer that Bravely Default II is coming to PC via Steam with a September 2, 2021 release date. This will be basically the exact same game, except that the PC release will support various controller options and resolution options. Additionally, the game will be 10% off on Steam through September 13.

We reviewed Bravely Default II back in February and found that the battle system and soundtrack were spectacular, but the narrative is pretty bland and basic. Overall, it’s still another terrific Square Enix RPG, with lots of fun ways to break the game. On Switch, Bravely Default II had some slight stutters and pauses, so the PC Steam release should be a good opportunity to clean that up.

Bravely Default II is coming to PC / Steam in a shorter period of time than a similar Square Enix Nintendo Switch, Octopath Traveler, did. The latter title came to Switch in July 2018 and arrived on PC in June 2019. It eventually came to Stadia in 2020 and Xbox One and Game Pass in March 2021. Amazingly, Octopath Traveler is still not available on PlayStation. It remains to be seen if Bravely Default II will follow a similar pattern of releases. Meanwhile, NEO: The World Ends with You will come to PC at some point this year, where it could probably use the sales boost.
