Bravely Default II Square Enix new older characters mature story online features Tomoya Asano Masashi Takahashi Famitsu

Bravely Default II is off to a pretty strong start in Switch sales, currently sitting at about 950,000 copies sold according to a recent report from Square Enix, which you can find translated on ResetEra. With a PC launch on the way next month, strong Switch sales are a good sign for the game.

With any luck, the game will pass one million copies sold on Switch alone before too long – it’s just so close to passing that milestone. The fresh launch on PC will help as well, opening the game up to a whole new market of JRPG fans. It’s nice to see the series do well in its first jump off of the 3DS.

Bravely Default II‘s success is pretty well deserved, too. Our reviewer enjoyed the game heavily, giving it an 8.5 out of 10 and praising the game as “another addicting Square Enix RPG adventure.” While we had some issues with the game’s predictable narrative and some performance issues, we loved the game’s in-depth combat, lovely soundtrack, and fantastic job system that contributed heavily to replayability.
