The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 8K ray tracing RT

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is one of Nintendo Switch’s best-looking games. The open-world adventure features some amazing visuals and an art style that mixes both cel-shaded and realistic eras of Zelda. Although, we all know that next-gen consoles like PlayStation 5 utterly trounce Nintendo Switch for power by being capable of things like ray tracing. Therefore, a YouTube channel by the name of Digital Dreams has uploaded a video that shows Breath of the Wild running at 8K resolution with ray tracing and all sorts of bells and whistles enabled.

Obviously, 8K Breath of the Wild with ray tracing is not actually running on Switch but instead being played on an emulator. Regardless, from the footage above, we get to see all of this in action, and it makes an already beautiful game look even prettier. The lighting looks fantastic with the ray tracing in full effect, and the grass looks even greener — if that makes sense?

Rumors and reports of a Nintendo Switch Pro continue to circulate like wildfire, so maybe we’ll see a substantial graphical leap with the game’s upcoming sequel. It probably won’t look as good as this footage, but it’s still something to be excited about. What do you think about Breath of the Wild running at 8K resolution, with all these graphical options like ray tracing enabled?
