Following its PC release last November, Bug Fables: The Everlasting Sapling will come to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on on May 28, with preorders beginning on May 14. We’ve had our eye on this game from developer Moonsprout Games and publisher Dangen Entertainment for quite a while due to its attractive art style that just screams the Paper Mario aesthetic, and it’s even an RPG with similar mechanics to boot. A new trailer celebrates the console release date announcement.
Bug Fables: The Everlasting Sapling features seven chapters about heroes Vi, Kabbu, and Leif on a quest to find the Everlasting Sapling, which can grant immortality, in the land of Bugaria. “Over 30 sidequests and 15 optional bosses” are promised as well.
Although there are credible rumors that a new traditional Paper Mario game is in the works for Nintendo Switch, those are still just rumors for now. Bug Fables: The Everlasting Sapling is the proverbial “bird in the hand,” and any lovers of this style of game should take notice. As it stands, Steam reviews for the game are “Overwhelmingly Positive,” which is a good sign. Moonsprout Games and Dangen Entertainment may have a winner on their hands here.
