Cadence of Hyrule receives tons of DLC, season pass, full physical edition Brace Yourself Games Cadence of Hyrule DLC 3: Symphony of the Mask out now on Switch

Nintendo launched its first Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase today. Among other games, we got information regarding Cadence of Hyrule, the spinoff of Crypt of the NecroDancer that contains The Legend of Zelda elements. The rhythm adventure title is getting three waves of DLC, an associated season pass, and a physical edition. Let’s take a look at what goodies await.

DLC Pack 1 contains five new characters. Impa attacks at a distance with her naginata, while Shadow Link and Shadow Zelda appear to be palette swaps of their respective heroes. Aria is from Crypt of the NecroDancer and poses a unique challenge — she’ll die if she misses a beat or gets hit! Frederick is also from the original game and is seen in the trailer using a projectile weapon.

DLC Pack 1 launches today and costs $5.99.

The second and third DLC packs for Cadence of Hyrule launch “before the end of October.” Pack 2 features 39 songs, some of which are new and others remixes of existing music. You’ll also be able to switch music around at any time. This will cost $5.99. Pack 3 is probably the most impressive of the bunch, though. It features a whole new campaign starring Skull Kid, who will be able to change abilities based on the masks he wears. It will contain a new map and new music. Pack 3 will cost $9.99.

All three packs are contained in the season pass, however, which costs $14.99, and that’s available today. You’ll save about seven bucks, so it’s a great deal if you’re interested in the DLC. That being said, if you can wait for it, Cadence of Hyrule is getting a physical version with the main game and all the downloadable content. This will retail for $39.99 and release on Oct. 23. It’s pretty nice that a game like this can receive a full-blown physical release without relying on someone like Limited Run Games.
