Castlevania Advance Collection release date Nintendo Switch trailer Direct 9/23/21 September 2021 Konami M2 Dracula X Circle of the Moon Harmony of Dissonance Aria of Sorrow PS4, Xbox One, PC

Today at the September 2021 Nintendo Direct, publisher Konami and port developer M2 dropped the trailer officially announcing Castlevania Advance Collection, which has a release date set for today, September 23, 2021, on Nintendo Switch (and its other previously leaked platforms of PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC) for $19.99. Castlevania Advance Collection includes the three Game Boy Advance (GBA) titles — Circle of the Moon, Harmony of Dissonance, and Aria of Sorrow — but it also surprisingly includes Castlevania: Dracula X, a SNES action game that does not follow the “Metroidvania” formula.

Some of the games (certainly not Harmony of Dissonance though) in Castlevania Advance Collection could pack quite a challenge in places, but this M2 revamp includes “Rewind” functionality to give yourself a second chance at victory. Other new features are included in the game as well, like Quick Save, button mapping, and art galleries. Previously, since Circle of the Moon, Harmony of Dissonance, and Aria of Sorrow had only ever launched on GBA, the only way to play them on a TV was with the Game Boy Player peripheral that attached to GameCube or to grab them on Wii U. Being able to play Castlevania Advance Collection on Nintendo Switch and other platforms with the modern enhancements shown in the Nintendo Direct announcement trailer is going to be a treat for longtime fans and a whole new generation of players alike.

So to reiterate: Castlevania Advance Collection is real, it includes Dracula X for some reason, it has its release date (today), and it has an awesome Switch reveal trailer courtesy of the Nintendo Direct.
