Yep, when South Korea said Catherine: Full Body and XCOM 2 were coming to Nintendo Switch, nobody was hitting the sauce that day. The Nintendo Direct Mini has revealed that Atlus and Studio Zero’s Full Body will indeed release for Switch on July 7, to the excitement of puzzle and, uh, horror romance fans everywhere.
This time around, you can enjoy the Catherine: Full Body announcement trailer directly from Atlus. It appears to be the exact same game that released for PlayStation 4 last year, which of course is a good thing.
For those few who somehow aren’t already familiar with the title, Full Body is a remake of the original Catherine that was released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 way back in 2011. It is half puzzle game, half life simulation. The protagonist, Vincent, is having commitment issues with his longtime girlfriend, whom he can feel is pressuring him into marriage. However, Vincent wakes up one day to find a total smokeshow of a blonde in bed beside him — not his girlfriend — which begins a downward descent that affects his dreams. Suddenly, Vincent is a sheep in his nightmares, climbing block towers that will kill him in real life if he falls off.
The block puzzle gameplay is fun and addictive, and Catherine: Full Body offers the option of remixed puzzles for those who have already mastered all the puzzles from the original game. A completely new character and storyline are carefully woven into the original narrative as well.
Atlus, Studio Zero, and the Nintendo Direct Mini have all made this day just a little bit sexier with this July 7 announcement.
