One of the most exciting parts about finishing the story in New Pokémon Snap is the ability to encounter the Legendary and Mythical Pokémon that serve as a sort of final test. Some of these encounters are fairly convoluted to obtain, while others are practically right in your face. Even in the easiest case, however, getting the rarer pictures often requires a bit of work. Such is the case with the Time Travel Pokémon, Celebi. If you’re having trouble getting that Celebi 4-star photo in New Pokémon Snap, check out our guide!
Celebi is one of the easiest Mythical Pokémon to find in New Pokémon Snap. Head to Forest Level 2 and proceed through the level until the final segment. If you’re on Level 3, just be sure to not take the alternate path at the end. Almost immediately upon entering the final segment, you should see Celebi flying around for an easy 1-star picture. Hit it with an Illumina Orb to make it teleport away. If you’re fast, you can take a picture here for a 2-star photo.
Proceed in the level until you head into the tiny enclosed tunnel-like segment, which can be seen in the gallery below. Off on your right-hand side, you should see a group of Fluffruit on the ground. Proceed to throw one near that group, and watch as Celebi reappears to eat it. Taking a picture while it’s eating should give you the 3-star shot. As a note, do not throw an Illumina Orb at it here, or else you’ll miss the rest of the encounter!
Right after exiting this area, you should see a small ruins by a Crystabloom on the left-hand side. You should see Celebi appear and sit on the ruins if you’ve done things right to this point. Now, hit both Celebi and the Crystabloom with Illumina Orbs and watch as a few more Celebi come. If you play the melody here, you should see the group dance, which you can take pictures of for the Celebi 4-star entry. If you miss this and still have some spare film, the group of Celebi will fly by you as you proceed to the exit. This phenomenon also counts as a 4-star Celebi photo if you can capture it.
There are nine other Legendary and Mythical Pokémon to find in New Pokémon Snap, so if you’re having trouble with those, be sure to check out our other guides, coming very, very soon!
