Recently some evidence has emerged that indicates that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Champion amiibo will be getting reprints, as first noticed by Nintendo Wire. The CPSIA page on the Nintendo Americas support website has production listings for the recently revealed Joker and Hero amiibo, but it also notably contains updated listings for Champion amiibo, beginning with Mipha and Revali Champion amiibo certificates dated Aug. 5 and then Urbosa and Daruk amiibo certificates dated Aug. 12. These listings all indicate new, more recent manufacturing runs.
While Nintendo has announced no plans for the 35th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda franchise next year yet, it’s likely that it will do something to commemorate it at that time. Perhaps we could optimistically think of this reprinting as a very early start to plans for the franchise for next year. We can only speculate at this point, but maybe the release date for the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will be revealed early in 2021, which would cause a surge in interest in the first game and an uptick in amiibo interest. We could be really stretching things though.
Be on the lookout for these Breath of the Wild Champion amiibo if you don’t have them already!
