While last night’s Square Enix presentation was defined by Final Fantasy and The Avengers, their conference wasn’t only about big budget IPs and JRPGs. The company will move forward with the Square Enix Collective, an initiative supporting indie developers, into 2020. With, Square Enix goes motorsports as they revealed Original Fire Games’ top-down Circuit Superstars.
Personally, Kirby Air Ride‘s Top Ride was the last top-down racer I played. However, I am interested in seeing how Circuit Supertars will pan out. The game is currently slated for a 2020 release on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam.
Square Enix previously published The Turing Test, Deadbeat Heroes, and Tokyo Dark on PC and consoles. Following Circuit Superstars, the company is considering supporting indie projects like Summer in Mara and TowerPrincess; be sure to check out the Collective website to vote for other possible indie games in the future!
