Conker's Other Bad Day

Conker’s Bad Fur Day is a notorious Nintendo 64 title which took Rare’s talents with mascot platforming into new territory with adult humor.  Sadly, a sequel was never released. A remake, however, was put out on the original Xbox after Rare Studios’ acquisition from Microsoft. The only two other utilizations for Conker were present in a series of Project Spark and Hololens iterations. Apart from that, the foul-mouthed squirrel has largely been absent. Courtesy of Chris Seavor, the project lead on the original title, we have more details as to what a sequel could’ve been. His recently released design documents of Conker’s Other Bad Day can be found in the tweets below.

After reading the documents, we’ve learned that there was an aim to be even more ambitious than the first game. Including taking on the role of the dead Panther King whose inhabiting a dark clone of Conker in the Other Bad Day’s second act.  There seems to be just as much wit in the storytelling as there was in the first. As well, there would be a climactic meta moment that involves Conker breaking the fourth wall to directly speak to the programmers following an end-credits fakeout.

This other design document which Chris Seavor shared includes various details on the worlds that would be explored by players. A dangerous Vampire Bat-infested Castle would serve as a hub. While other areas included a cheese kingdom and a hellish nightclub called The Basement (of which is specifically noted to expect lots of pissing). Among this, there’s also information regarding his new love-interest Bunni the Rabbit. Also, there are notes stating that the game would also include various film, television, and greater video game references that were present in Conker’s Bad Fur Day.

Lastly, some details were revealed for the overall structure of the game. Considering Seavor’s statements in the final tweet, we decided it best not to reach out for more information. However, should more info come to light in regards to Conker’s Other Bad Day we’ll report it as soon as it’s released.

      2. Please my hopes can only get so high, the fall could hurt somebody.

      3. Chris Seavor is independent of these companies and E3-s, so he could only have influenced if his tweets blew up, and these ones are something more than just text-explanations-from-memories he’s been doing for COBD until now, so of course it’s coming to light “now”.

Also, it was Conker series’ 20th anniversary (Conker’s Pocket Tales’ 20th and it’s the first game in the series) just 3 days before E3, and various merchandise had started being released recently (especially F4F statues), so all those aspects could’ve contributed something’d be done, which of course wasn’t in favor to Banjo because Conker’s just a testing-playground series now.

    2. Microsoft sucks and killed Rare! What else is new?

      1. This was fault of Rare, not Microsoft. Microsoft only had money for this.

        1. It was more a fuck Microsoft for buying them

        2. still microsofts fault for buying them out in the first place and then doing absolutely nothing with their potential, should’ve just left them as a 3rd party company for nintendo and just offered them money for a few xbox exclusive titles
