Remember the ‘great console war’ of the 80s and 90s? Nintendo and SEGA were quite the rivals back then. Of course, things are a lot different now. But, imagine traveling back in time with this new gizmo from accessory-maker 8Bitdo? It will allow you to control your SEGA Genesis/Mega Drive with Nintendo controllers. Back then, that probably would’ve landed you a felony charge.

As strange as that might sound, it’s not exactly anything new. We’ve seen various controller adaptors pop up from time to time. This newest one from 8Bitdo is cheekily called the “Retro Reciever” and allows you to use your Joy-Con, Pro Controllers (Wii U/Switch), and even Wiimotes on your classic SEGA system. The Retro Reciever is also compatible with Xbox One Bluetooth-enabled controllers and the PS4’s DualShock controller.

8BitDo’s Retro Reciever is up for pre-order now on Amazon for $24.42. It’s set to fully release on February 28, 2019.
