Metroid fans have been dying for more details on Metroid Prime 4 ever since its reveal last year. Well, today we got something that fans are calling a major tease. The Game Awards host and producer Geoff Keighley shared a photo via Twitter that has caused quite the uproar amongst fans.

Pictured in the photo is Geoff Keighley, celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck, and of course Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aimé. Pretty normal photo at first glance, but there are a couple things here that are causing fans to speculate. First, it’s the caption “See you in December!” The Game Awards take place in December so this ultimately confirms Nintendo will be present. No surprises here as Nintendo has been attending the show for a while now. The thing that has stood out the most to fans is Reggie’s shirt. Look closely, yes that is indeed a Metroid t-shirt.
Does this mean anything Geoff? pic.twitter.com/HokTJXqaDj

Ever since fans noticed Reggie’s shirt the speculation began to take over Twitter. The biggest prediction coming from fans is that this is confirmation that Nintendo will premiere a Metroid Prime 4 trailer at The Game Awards. It may sound crazy, but Nintendo is no stranger to bringing surprises to the show. Last year Nintendo revealed Bayonetta 3, so who knows!
Is it possible that this whole thing is just a coincidence? That does seem like the most logical conclusion, then again Nintendo does have a history of teasing fans. The best advice for fans is to tune in to The Game Awards this December to find out.
Metroid Prime 4 is one of the many upcoming Nintendo titles that have gotten fans so excited for the future. If this new Metroid installment does make its way into the 2019 lineup, I think its safe to say Nintendo will have a stellar year.
