According to some new images from Twitter, it appears that a counterfeit market for amiibo has arose in Brazil.

This counterfeit amiibo market should not necessarily come as a surprise. Nintendo pulled out of the Brazillian market completely earlier this year. Importing amiibo can triple or even quadruple the cost of an amiibo, so it makes sense that the market would demand cheaper alternatives. Hopefully these counterfeit amiibo will not penetrate the North American market.
