Customer buys preowned Dragon Quest Builders from GameStop, it’s actually Sonic Forces

A Twitter user has shared his experience with purchasing a preowned Dragon Quest Builders copy from GameStop. The case and sticker on the game card both appear to be the correct game, but when the card is inserted into a Switch, Sonic Forces is the game that pops up.

Clearly what happened was the unscrupulous previous owner had peeled off the Sonic Forces sticker on the game card and swapped it with the one for Dragon Quest Builders before selling it to GameStop. Luckily, when the Twitter user went back to GameStop, they were very apologetic. He now has a copy on order from another store. It is likely this particular cartridge was never tested in a Switch console by staff at the store, or if it was, the results weren’t scrutinized closely.

In any case, this is just a funny little moment we wanted to share this evening!

Started out playing Metroid 2 on the GameBoy at around 5 years-old, and now I write about games all day long. Can't play Switch and drive, I've tried. As time goes on the Switch is quickly becoming my favourite console of all time.
