Entertainment company Happinet subsidiary Max Games is celebrating the 10th anniversary of Danganronpa with a special Nintendo Switch pouch and cartridge case. The products are officially licensed by Nintendo and will release in Japan in early November.
It’s been 10 years since we first saw the “Ultimate” students appear in the killing games hosted by the series’s mascot character, Monokuma. The first Danganronpa game was released for the PlayStation Portable (PSP) in November 2010. So far, there have been three entries for the main series and numerous spinoff titles, manga adaptations, anime, theatrical plays, and more. While the actual 10th anniversary was last November, the celebration has continued into 2021.
Here’s a look at the Danganronpa anniversary Switch products from Max Games:
Nintendo Switch Smart Pouch EVA Danganronpa Series
The Danganronpa Nintendo Switch Smart Pouch features Monokuma, his sister Monomi, and his children, the Monokuma Kubs. Additionally, it comes with a Monokuma charm on the zipper and three cartridge slots inside the pouch. The Danganronpa Switch pouch will be available for 2,838 yen (~$25.78).
Nintendo Switch Game Cartridge Case 24 Danganronpa Series
The Danganronpa Nintendo Switch Game Cartridge Case comes with space to fit in 24 carts. It features Monokuma’s face on one side and characters in pixel art style on the other side. The case is kind of like a 3DS game case. It opens up like a book and has two sections with six cartridge slots on the front and back for a total of 24. The Danganronpa Switch game case will go for 1,430 yen ($~12.99).
All three mainline Danganronpa games are available for the Nintendo Switch. That’s Dangaonronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc, Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair, and Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony. Furthermore, the three titles will release as anniversary editions in Danganronpa Decadence this December.
