fire emblem dark burdens

Last night, Nintendo has revealed the latest round of new character summons coming soon to Fire Emblem Heroes. This time, more familiar faces are pulled from their darkest hours either to join or face off against the Kingdom of Askr’s Order of Heroes. Check the trailer for Fire Emblem Heroes‘ upcoming “Dark Burdens” summoning focus below!

Dark Burdens’ new summons:

  • Corrin: Bloodbound Beast, from Fire Emblem Fates. Like Corrin: Wailing Soul from the “Darkness Within” focus, now it’s the male Corrin’s turn to fall victim to the newly awakened power lurking in his blood. A Blue Breath Infantry unit who wields “Brutal Breath” as its weapon and the new “Atk/Spd Solo 4” skill.
  • Lyon: Demon King, from Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones. An otherwise well-meaning mage, the prince of Grado becomes influenced by the Dark Stone, which housed the spirit of the Demon King Fomortiis. A Green Tome Infantry unit who mercilessly unleashes the power of “Blood Tome,” complete with the new “Rouse Atk/Res 3” skill.
  • Julia: Heart Usurped, from Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War. In spite of the blood of Naga coursing through her veins, the Dark Dragon Lord Loptous manages to possess her, just as it did her twin brother Julius. A Red Tome Infantry unit possessed by her “Dark Scripture,” boosted by the new “Atk/Res 4” skill.
  • Ike: Zeal Unleashed, from Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. This particular iteration of the Radiant Hero appears to be based on the “Nightmarish, Rampaging Hero” variant introduced in the Fire Emblem: Cipher card game. A Red Sword Infantry unit who wields “Chaos Ragnell,” bearing the new Speed-boosting skill “Darting Breath.”

Fire Emblem Heroes will introduce the new Dark Burdens units this Friday, May 8 at midnight Pacific time. These characters will join the game’s ongoing Book IV story within a new chapter, dubbed “Steeped in Twilight.”

Are you looking forward to Dark Burdens? What do you think of these new units? Did you manage to summon Edelgard: Flame Emperor, the latest Legendary Hero yet? Let us know in the comments.
