Nintendo wrapped up it’s January 11th Direct with a huge announcement: Dark Souls Remastered is coming to Nintendo Switch. Dark Souls is one of the most beloved franchises of the last 10 years. The original Dark Souls was released on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 back in 2011. This will be the first time that the franchise sees a release on a Nintendo platform.

The trailer shown during the direct was more of a mood piece. No actual gameplay was shown. The Remastered version of the game will include the expansion, “Artorias of the Abyss”. Dark Souls joins Skyrim and Doom as more hardcore offerings on Nintendo’s new system. Best news of all is that you don’t have to wait long to get your hands on the game as Dark Souls Remastered hits Switch on May 25th.

Are you excited to play Dark Souls on the go? Are you new the Dark Souls series? Would you like to see the entire Dark Souls series on the Switch? Let us know in the comments.
