Darksiders Genesis Nephilim Edition board game Airship Syndicate THQ Nordic $380

Darksiders Genesis is slated to release some unspecified time this year, but I hope you haven’t preordered the game yet. It’s because you just got a better option. Airship Syndicate and THQ Nordic have revealed Darksiders Genesis Nephilim Edition, which includes a big special box, the game, a steelbook case, a 9″ Strife statue, stickers (the ultimate “nobody actually wanted this” bonus), and an entire new board game called Darksiders: The Forbidden Land. This edition is limited to 5,000 copies. And all it will cost you is $379.99, which is totally fine because you have no bills to pay and/or your parents are rich.

There is also a “Collector’s Edition” of Darksiders Genesis that only costs $119.99. It contains basically everything the other version does except the board game, which means this board game is being valued at around $260. The board game must have some ludicrously detailed figurine pieces to be carrying that price tag.

Incidentally, just this month, Shovel Knight received a Kickstarter board game that was subsequently canceled because it was only offering a version with expensive (albeit pretty) figurine characters. They’re going to relaunch the game with an option for paper standees, which will roughly cut the price of the game in half.

Darksiders Genesis Nephilim Edition will surely not be budging on its price tag, so it’s time to prove your devotion to the franchise by opening your wallet as wide as you possibly can! (Or not. Don’t do anything crazy.)

On the bright side, I was really impressed with this game at E3.
