Darksiders III trailer 3 Nintendo Switch port release date September 30, 2021 THQ Nordic Gunfire Games

Publisher THQ Nordic and developer Gunfire Games are physically and digitally bringing Darksiders III with its Keepers of the Void and The Crucible DLC to Nintendo Switch with a release date of September 30, 2021. Darksiders III originally launched for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC for 2018, changing up the combat from previous games by incorporating Souls combat elements into the exploration. Unfortunately, those changes were not well-received, and from a critical perspective it’s considered the worst game in the franchise. The game did at least receive a post-launch “Classic” combat option, which reintroduced elements to make it feel like in the previous series games.

So, you may or may not be in for an awesome Darksiders III experience on Nintendo Switch. In any case, this port news will please completionists, as it means the whole franchise will be available on Nintendo Switch. Darksiders Warmastered Edition and Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition launched on Switch in 2019, and Darksiders Genesis arrived last year as a more Diablo-flavored spinoff by Airship Syndicate. Gunfire Games and Airship Syndicate both contain staff from Vigil Games, which created the Darksiders franchise, and Airship is currently creating a League of Legends RPG.

Let us know if you’re psyched to see Darksiders III coming to Nintendo Switch in September 2021.
