Dead Cells: Fatal Falls DLC expansion 2 second DLC Evil Empire Motion Twin teaser trailer roguelike 3.5 million units sold

In early December, Motion Twin and Evil Empire announced Dead Cells: Fatal Falls DLC with a rough early 2021 release window. Now, the developer is ready to show off a little more on its second paid add-on with a new trailer and a definitive release date. Dead Cells: Fatal Falls will drop Jan. 26, costing just $4.99 on all platforms. The new gameplay trailer showcases some new enemies, new weapon options, and two new biomes. It also features a deadly flower bed where you’ll take on the expansion’s brand new boss, which looks mighty tough.

It’s a good thing that there are quite a few new weapon options then. Fatal Falls introduces a new maniacal sword that somehow flies, along with the iconic scythe for slashing at your foes. There are seven new additions in total: Lightning Rods, Ferryman’s Lantern, Scarecrow’s Sickles, Iron Staff, Snake Fangs, Serenade, and Cocoon. There are also 10 new outfits to pair with them.

If you’ve not picked up Dead Cells in any capacity just yet, there’s some good news for Switch users. A new bundle is coming containing the previous paid DLC, The Bad Seed, and Fatal Falls. The bundle is available to preorder on the Nintendo Switch eShop with a 33% preorder discount.

Motion Twin and Evil Empire have also said that various sales will go live for the base game and its previous DLC once Fatal Falls launches. These discounts will go live across all platforms sometime between Jan. 26 and mid-February.
